Many businesses will need public liability insurance if they are dealing with the public. Before starting any business, you should check out your competition. This is particularly important if you are opening a shop or store in a local area. Don’t make enemies of your competition, since you can learn a lot from them. Treat any competition as healthy competition, but think seriously about starting a business if there are already several well-established businesses in the same niche.
- Customer service is key
Even if you’re running a wholesale business where people are buying items for cheap prices and getting a quick service, you should prioritise great customer service. This is often the factor which puts certain businesses head and shoulders above the rest, so consciously try to treat all your customers in a friendly and respectful way.
